Shiney & ....Old!

Wow!  It has been way to long since we've last posted.  Don't worry, we've been keeping ourselves busy with new careers and not enough time to keep up on all of the projects that have been piling up in our garages.  Since we've last blogged, some big changes have come our way... LeAnn and Pete bought a new house that they are fixing up and making beautiful.  We are so excited!  I'm sure there will be a tour of all of her updates in the very near future...

Until then, here is the latest in the line-up.  This mirror has been sitting in Jacee's garage for a few months now.  With a little "encouragement" (will end up on the curb if you don't figure out what you are going to do with it soon...) from her husband, she has finally chosen the perfect color, and perfect place for this gem.

This was a find from Jacee's Grandmas' house, and it used to sit on her grandparent's dresser.  We are guessing this mirror is close to 60 years old - maybe older?!

Color is Mimosa - perfect because it is above our bar /  hutch in our house.  That, and we love Mimosas!

Please disregard the sump pump pipes - had to move this party indoors due to the cold weather :)

The hutch / bar is a piece we got at the EXTRAVAGANZA in Springfield this past summer!  We love it!

Well, that is all she wrote for this one!
Until next time...

Project Peep Show...

Wow!  What a busy time of year it has turned out to be for us....
The days are passing by more quickly than we'd like, but isn't that life?!  I mean, with it getting dark at 4:30 every night (ok - a little bit of exaggeration), but the bottom line is there just isn't enough hours in the day to keep up sometimes.

We find ourselves in a similar situation with our projects.  I mean, with a garage full of stuff and a new house that is begging to be polished up, we are jam smack in the middle of about a billion projects.

So here it is, our first ever, Project Peep Show.  Here are a couple of small projects in our studio we are working on to satisfy your taste buds...  Keep you eyes peeled for the final products!

This mirror is courtesy of my Grandma Jean.  She was a true collector of EVERYTHING!  A real Garage Sale Enthusiast.  The gold just wasn't working for me, so she's getting a good sand down.

When you see this mirror next, she will be beautiful.  Her paint color is called FROST, and it is just plain pretty.

Old windows. I mean, really.  These things can be found at almost every flea market you go to.  But this one was only $1, so we snaggd it up.  It too is getting a good sand-down.  We have a beautiful teal, rustic treatment we are planning for this old guy.

The glass is still in tact and beautiful.

Also, we just got our hands on a dresser from the 1920's that is just precious.  It is a high quality piece with tons of potential.  We can't wait to get our hands dirty with that one...

As always, thanks for following us.  If you ever have any "junk" you want taken off your hands - or just spruced up - let us know!  We are more than happy to come take a look....

Until next time...

Chairs + Ladders...

Free finds are the absolute BEST!  We found these old and worn down items on the side of the road at a "first come, first serve" garage sale a few weekends ago....and we just couldn't resist.  They both needed some serious TLC, but in the end this ladder and the set of chairs turned out super cute and amazing.  LeAnn used both of these for her Anniversary Party in the back yard, and they were precious...
Moral of this one is simple:  Never pass up a ratty set of chairs and ladder on the side of the road.  :)

This is Jeff, LeAnn's hubby - hammering out some serious sanding.

The ladder before.... falling apart.

Getting there.  It is in the middle of getting a fresh coat of fabulous green paint!

So cute!  Ladders make perfect decoration pieces - and great place to set flowers, hang towels, baskets, etc.  We love them!

The scene when we were finished!  We painted the chairs various pastel colors, and you can see the ladder in the background and how fabulous it turned out!  The cute linens were provided by THE RITZY ROSE!

Columbus : Meet CountryLiving (Fair)...

The grounds of the Ohio Historical Village in Columbus, Ohio, transform into a dixieland delight for one weekend every year...and this year we couldn't wait to dig in!  This year the fair came to town September 16 - 18, and the weather held off just long enough for us to take a good look around - and give Cari Cucksey (Cash & Cari) a quick hello - We LOVE her!

Every year this event provides us with so much inspiration - you can't help but geek out over all of the beautiful arrangements, fabulous ideas, and the most amazing pieces you have ever seen.

We ended up walking away with a couple vintage aprons, various knick-knacks, and some superb ideas...

CountryLiving magazine, you have done it again!  Another successful stop in Cbus...

Are you kidding me?!  This most adorable set-up melts your heart with the retro-inspired chairs, contrasting luggage, and the ultra-cute trailer.  If only all camping trips were this chic.

Fabric, fabric, fabric....in the brightest shapes and patterns you will ever find!  Lets not forget the simple, yet perfectly placed, banner. Great touch!

Cute use of letters and numbers over a mud room coat stashing station.  We love finding vintage knobs, bath tub handles, rusted letters, you name it, to spice up just about anything we can!

Speaking of letters....LeAnn crated this number for her 1st year Anniversary celebration!

So Worth It...

"$25, that's it.  I swear. Can we please bring your truck back and pick it up later....?"

An early morning garage sale call to our husbands is not their most favorite thing, but needless to say - we love doing it.  Why?  It is usually because we have found a piece we just can't live without - that, and it won't fit in our cars!

That is exactly what happened with this beauty... she was just sitting there, begging to be taken home by us and hooked up with a new paint job and some new jewels.
The garage sale we found this at was located in Upper Arlington, one of our favorite spots for finding the goods, at an old lady's house who was over 80 years old.  As we carted it away later that night she had told us that this chest of drawers used to be her grandaddy's - and she could never remember a time where it wasn't in a house that she lived in... How awesome is that?!?  She could not believe we wanted to take this old, nasty thing home - and was even more embarrassed that we wouldn't let her replace the wallpaper that lined the dusty drawers.

I hope we did her proud...

The Beginning...

 Sanding her down...

 The drawers.

All sanded down, ready for some new paint!

 Done! - New Hardware!

As always,

Peace & Love -

Spray Paint & Sandpaper...

Looking for a quick weekend project?  Here's one we pulled together in a matter of hours - and even YOU can kick up your backyard bash a notch with these fun beverage tubs...

We found these old galvanized steel buckets at a flea market, plus the stand, for a great deal!  We got them home, sanded them down, and spray painted them with some bright and summery colors for the perfect look!

They turned out so fabulous, and we have love using them for all of our backyard BBQ's!!
Happy Summer Everyone!

Peace & Love,

LeAnn & Jacee
